too fast already
Summer is just slipping by. Not as many checkmarks on my list of summerfun things to do as I was hoping, but I am just a bit excited by the hint of cool in the air, and the sight of a man riding a skateboarding while holding an open umbrella outside of my window. That’s a New York thing right there, all right.

july will go down as having the most 7-day work weeks in my self-employed life thus far. if i were to give advice to a would-be freelancer (not much ready for that yet), it would be: know that this life is very much about adrenaline, and prepare for a heap of days on which you cannot stop and other days on which you can barely get started. this is bad news for me and my brand of brain, which has become notoriously chemically dependent on work in my adult life, but i’m working, coping, being.
